The STEM Camp allows students in grades 10 - 12 to experience career exploration with hands-on activities in one of eight different career areas on the campus of Lake Area Tech.  Industry partners will be on campus to share insight about their respective fields and the many career opportunities available to graduates. Participants will register for one of the following career areas:

AGRICULTURE/CONSTRUCTION

  • Experience career exploration of thousands of opportunities in the Agriculture and Construction world. Hands-on activities in Agriculture (Agri-Business, Agri-Production, Dairy, Commodity Merchandising, Livestock Production and Management, Precision Technology), Building Trades Technology, Environmental Technology, and Heavy Equipment Operator.

BUSINESS/SERVICES

  • Experience, in a unique way, what Lake Area Tech has to offer in the fast-growing world of business and service careers. Hands-on activities in Business Associate/Financial Services, Community Healthcare Worker, Computer Information Systems, Cosmetology and Human Services Technician.

ENERGY/MANUFACTURING

  • Explore the vast careers in the energy and manufacturing fields. Hands-on experience in Electronic Systems Technology/Robotics, Energy Operations/Energy Technology, Precision Machining and Welding Technology.

MEDICAL/HEALTH

  • Discover the many opportunities in the medical industry. Hands-on activities in Dental Assisting, Medical Lab Technician, Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physical Therapist Assistant.

NURSING/PUBLIC SAFETY

  • Career exploration of countless opportunities in the nursing and public safety industry. Hands-on activities in Nursing, Med/Fire Rescue, Medical Assisting and Law Enforcement.

TRANSPORTATION

  • Encounter thousands of opportunities in the transportation industry. Hands-on activities in Aviation Maintenance Technology/Professional Fixed Wing Pilot, Automotive Technology, Custom Paint & Fabrication, and Diesel Technology.
